High Frequency Ultra-Precise Halogen Lighting Systems

Model 2050 high frequency halogen illumination system

Phoenix Imaging offers several models of industrial halogen illumination systems.   These precision illuminations systems offer many advantages over conventional halogen light sources for demanding machine vision applications.  The halogen illumination systems are available is two models, the 2050 (single lamp) and 2060 (dual lamp) configurations.  The units may be ordered in standard "sand" powder coat paint or polished stainless steel (-SS).  Both models offer a high frequency power supply to drive the lamps in the halogen cycle (patent pending design).  This technology provides excellent control of the lamp output (approximately +/- 1/2% variation over the life of the lamp).  Both systems incorporate an active loop feedback that continuously adjusts power to the lamp.

This ultra-stable illumination system provides unparalleled performance in applications where the light must remain constant for extended periods of time.  The design also improves lamp life several times over that of conventional DC driven power supplies.   Some applications have experienced EKE lamp life of over 2000 hours continuous use!

The 2050 is a single lamp design with standard forced air cooling.  The unit is constructed of industrial grade components and is housed in a NEMA 12 rated electrical enclosure.  The units may be order to operate with the nose piece facing upward or downward.  The housing must be mounted in a vertical orientation to insure adequate cooling of components.

The 2060 model can also be ordered with a hardware selector switch to energize only one lamp at a time.  This allows the user to quickly change the lighting bundle without needlessly burning up the lamp life.  This allows the lamp to cool down before changing without interrupting the production line.  The lamp intensity can be set externally using a 0 - 5VDC signal while maintaining stable output using the internal feedback control circuitry.
