2080 HF Fluorescent Ring LampThe 2080 series high frequency fluorescent ring / dome illumination system is an excellent choice when diffuse "white" light is required. The 2080 illumination system is comprised of a multiple ring fluorescent lamp mounted in a solid anodized aluminum body. This is not a light-weight unit, it is designed for industrial applications. The lamp outer diameter is 8 inches and inner diameter is about 4 inches. The aluminum housing is designed with an inner lip to protect the lamp and prevent direct exposure of the lamp to the work piece. The lamp is controlled by a precision 50 KHz power supply with active loop feedback. The luminous flux of this lamp is controlled to ±0.25% of the user defined output level for the life of the lamp. The tri-phosphor lamp is selected to produce excellent image quality regardless of the object color.
Shown above is the 2080 with ring light diffuser, an 8" diffuse white, The 2080 is useful for the uniform illumination of concave, convex or convoluted surface, as might be found on the bottom of an aluminum can. Since the 2080 operates at high frequency (~50 KHz) images may be acquired using electronic shutter cameras. There is plenty of light available even at 1/10,000th of a second shutter speed. This allows moving objects to be imaged without distributive strobe flashing.
Lamp Housing Module for 2080 / 2085 The 2085 Series of high frequency ring / dome lights are very similar to the 2080 Series with the exception of the power supply. The 2085 power supply is a precision high frequency power supply that monitors the energy supplied to the lamps. It attempts to maintain a constant power level using internal circuitry. The actual size of the lamp housing is the same for both systems. |
