The compact 3100-02 LED Backlight

This large area red light emitting diode (LED) illumination system was designed around the standard Phoenix Imaging enclosure system. This unique enclosure system (patent pending) allows the customer to select from a wide range of LED backlights. The LED backlights are at least twice as bright as standard LED backlights and generate a uniform illuminated area. The 3100 series backlight is available in a 2" width and lengths from 2" to 96". The 3200 series backlight is available in a 4" width and lengths from 4" to 96". Both series use a special diffusion technique to generate a flat field from edge to edge.

The 3100 /3200 / 3300 LED illumination systems use a compact quick-disconnect 3 plug electrical system. The illumination system uses 24 VDC as standard input power. The customer may specify 12 VDC for small LED configurations, consult factory for details. The standard housing has a back mounting plate designed to accept "T-Nut" for rapid mounting in any orientation. The rigid aluminum housing is intended for industrial application and the LED's are selected for an extremely long work life (200,000 hours) with out maintenance. The unit is lightweight yet strong enough for a person to stand on without damage. The exterior is clear anodized aluminum with black vinyl - glass reinforced end caps.

The 3100 series is available in 2" increments up to a length of 96". The LED source is uniform across the entire length of the illumination system making it ideal for web / sheet inspections where consistent lighting is critical.

The LED backlight provides several benefits for applications in which critical dimensional measurements are required. The monochromatic light from an LED backlight produces crisp; clear edge information and the stability of the LED can only be equaled by advanced illumination systems costing several times as much. Phoenix Imaging LED products are designed for continuous operation and require no special choppers or PWM drivers. The fast response time allows the units to be switched on and off as often as the application requires.
